The whole point of technology is to make things easier.
– Check out this post by Dave Winer about combining hardware and online services, in this case Twitter and photo cameras. So true. Be sure to read the comments.

– Saucony Performance
Just bought a pair of Saucony running shoes. This manifesto was printed on the shoe box as well. Pretty good eh? Better than the average boring mission statement.

Get Glue!
Glue: Hi, I'm Fraser from Glue. Could you answer the question below? It would provide us with helpful insight. After unlocking my personalized stream, my experience was: 1) Great, I loved the suggestions and explored right away 2) Ok, I would have liked some more info on the service 3) Not good, I was confused about what to do next. Thanks!
Me: 2 :-)
Glue: Thanks for the response! This is a new release of GetGlue.com so your feedback will be a huge help. Was there a specific point where more info would have helped? Here's a FAQ - http://getglue.com/faq - would some of this insight have helped?
Me: Like it now I am using Glue for a few days. It was a bit unclear at start how to use your service though. Some specific suggestions on what to do after I subscribed - took me a while to figure out where, what and how. Also, the 10 likes needed before unlocking your personal stream weren't set in context enough so I didn't understand why it was needed. Therefore, this request felt a bit spammy. Hope this helps - good luck with your great service!
Glue: I see -- so if there was a bit of additional messaging around WHY you should like 10 items... it would have been a warmer welcome to the service?
Me: Yep!

The average Internet user ends up performing hundreds of DNS lookups each day.
– Official Google Blog: Introducing Google Public DNS
So much more than I would intuitively say. BTW I read the number 1000 elsewhere. But if I think about it for a second I guess it’s right. I am actually thinking about using their DNS service. Guess that would require some router tweaking on...

Pay attention
Read an interesting article by psychologist Mihaly Csikzentmihalyi in an onboard magazine while on a flight to Amsterdam. People who enjoy work tend to invest all attention in what they are doing. By paying attention they find variety and challenge in it. And this leads to satisfaction, for the brain surgeon as well as for a sandwich maker. Sounds like a choice doesn’t it?
