Last Thursday I went to the Steely Dan concert in the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam. The concert was part of their Left Bank Holiday tour. I went with my brother who shot some Qik videos - like the one above of Aja. Dutch sax player Toon Roos and his quartet were their support act - I liked him a lot. Very nice sound. And the show of the Dan themselves? I’ve seen them in 2000 and 2007 in...

All said and done, it was almost worth losing the phone just for the thrill of finding it like this. We want to pitch a reality show to the Discovery Channel: “Phone Hunters.” It certainly felt like we were in one there for a second.

The Surinam kitchen →
Last weekend I bought a children bike seat via Marktplaats.nl, the Dutch classifieds site, to be placed in our new cargo bike for my youngest boy. I ended up in the house of the seller, Faisel Rajjab, who appears to be an illustrator and writer of the Dutch food book “The adventurous Surinam kitchen”. I love Surinam food and will definitely buy his book!

The Boxee app store is getting better
bijan: Our portfolio company Boxee is an open source, media center application that runs on Windows, Macs, Linux and even AppleTV. It’s browser that is optimized for a 10 foot experience and a remote control. Think of it as Front Row or Windows Media Center but so much better. Not only does it support a wider range of services like Netflix, Last.fm, flickr, cnn, mtv, cbs, pandora, youtube (and...
