The World According To Carp

I just finished this Dutch novel “The House of the Mosque” by Iranian dissident Kader Abdollah. I started it 3 weeks ago on our holiday to Texel. It’s his personal story and the story of the Iranian people starting in the 70’s, just before the Sjah was replaced by the Islamic nation led by the Ayatollahs. I started reading it to learn more about the Islam. Little did I know it became a really current subject with the student protests going on in Tehran as I write this. It’s a beautiful novel which reads like a Persian story - as I would imagine it. And the last chapter is impressive, very impressive. Highly recommended.
